Many AI products turn the interface into a performance. Glows, gradients, and automatic suggestions compete with the sentence a person is trying to read.
Show the actions
If the system searched, edited, or called a tool, place those steps next to the answer. Hiding the process does not make the result more trustworthy.
Speak less by default
A suggestion belongs where the person asked, or somewhere easy to ignore. It should not cover the text in the middle of reading.
Important
A calm interface is not a smaller product. It is a product where each function has an obvious place.
Make it reversible
Any change produced by a model should be undoable. Automation without undo takes editing away from the person.
